Is a witch hunt going on here in South Carolina?

Alright, I am now on my soap box. It seems to me that there is a witch hunt going on here in South Carolina over Governor Mark Sanford not wanting to take the Federal stimulus money without being allowed to pay down some debt.

First off I have to say that I am not a Republican nor am I a Democrat. My views simply are logic and trust in what is right and not go with party affiliations. Most people who know me understand that I do not always agree with our Governor but this is one issue that I do.

The problem here is that the local media I have seen on TV would have you to believe that he wants to use the entire stimulus to pay down debt and worst take away from the school system. They simply are not giving the whole story. See for yourself just what Governor Mark Sanford would like to do with the stimulus.

He is simply asking for a quarter of that money to pay down debt which would in turn free up even more than the bailout would to begin with. Did I miss something here? Have all of the economic professionals said to pay down debt first in your personal lives to get your money back on track to the right direction?

The first day of the rest of my life

Published by Robin Green under south carolina Edit This

Today the largest Federal cigarette tax increase takes effort and so does the start of my Chantex. The doctor thinks it is worth a try to help me quit smoking and so far several family members have kicked the habit using this new pill. Who knows it could really make a difference. Well I hope it will anyway.

Do you know of someone who has layed those nasty things down? How did they do it? It would be interesting to see how many ways people have come up with to quit smoking. Some say the best thing to do is just to put them down. I have tried that before and it did not seem to work. Maybe with the help of this newer medication, I can finally make the leap from smoker to non.

I will keep you posted on how this works for me.

The clouds are rolling back in

Oh, no! The clouds are rolling back in here in Upstate South Carolina with rain to follow the next few days. I know we need all we can get but goodness, depression is setting in from being indoors for over a week. A trip to the tanning bed can help some with my mood at least.

Today is the final day to pass or not, any bills that are in the House and Senate. There are several we are keeping our eyes on and will let everyone know just as soon as we find out. Maybe this session was not exactly a waste of time like some others in the past.

Have a great day everyone!

The first day of the new

Published by Robin Green under south carolina Edit This

This is the first day of the new exercise regimen of walking twice a day for 30 minutes. Today I had a doctors appointment for severe headaches (migraines) that have been fierce for about 3 weeks now. The usual test’s were done with a shocking discovery, yes it is high blood pressure. Now I am one who does not eat salt but loves pepper so when did this happen? It could be just that this is a hereditary condition because just about every adult on my mothers side have the same including Thyroid problems (which I was also checked for).

Pills are not something I like to take if I can help it so I have 30 days to try alternative methods such as diet and exercise. The thought of also losing the extra 30 pounds I have put on is also a plus. Food however does not seem to taste the same without all the butter, grease and fat. Plain rise with boiled chicken and sauteed veggies was my supper tonight and without all the good stuff, there was really no taste at all, just BLAH.

Oh well, I will have to get used to it and so will my family because if I can’t eat it, it will not be in this house. Have a great afternoon today everyone.
