Are Pay Day Loans A Thing Of The Past?

Published by Robin Green at 4:22 am under Local Events, Local News Edit This

There is now a bill that was introduced in the Senate on January 8, 2008 that would make it illegal to own or operate a Pay Day Loan business within South Carolina. After having heard so many of the citizens complaints Senator Hawkins of Spartanburg Dist. 12 and Senator Anderson of Greenville Dist. 7 proposed the bill S.954 to the Senate. Now this bill is waiting on Governor Mark Sanford to sign off on the revisions.

With so many bills out there to be passed, it is impossible to keep track. I am going to be highlighting some of them over the next few months, along with some that have already been passed.
