TR Speedway was a dust bowl washout for the spectator’s

Published by Robin Green at 11:07 am under Local Events, Local News, TR Speedway Edit This

All of my reader’s know I love to write about the event’s at TR Speedway and I would love to do the same thing today, but I missed most of it. I was there Thursday (which was great) for practice, Friday was good but foggy and the couple of mains and all the heats were rained out by 9pm. Saturday is a whole other story.

Since Friday had been rained out, they decided to do the whole show in one day. We got to the track about 1pm, found our usual seat was empty (thank goodness) and the track looked like it would make for a great show. I was afraid it would be too wet because of all the rain we have had but by the first heat race it was apparent that the opposite had happened.

The track was so dry that when the practice laps started, it was so dusty you could not even see the whole track, just bits and pieces. TR Speedway was a dust bowl washout for the spectator’s. Now don’t get me wrong it is expected to be dusty because it is a dirt track, but the whole reason I like TR Speedway is because they (most of the time) wet there’s down to keep the dust to a minimum.

I had hoped that before the main event’s they would put some water down. Well I guess they either did not have the water truck that day or they just did not want to take  the time to do so.

Some drivers may like the track to be dry however for me being a spectator it is very upsetting. I missed most of the race’s because I could not see a d**n thing. I like to be able to report on who did what or that it was a nice clean race and the winner’s showed their skill on the track. Not today since I could not see a thing.

Things will happen and you can’t make everybody happy all the time. For the last race of the year my family and I are not happy camper’s.  I guess we will see them at TR Speedway next year and go from there.

By the way Kid Quick did show up last night for the big race to support the fellow drivers. He and his mother were in the stands right behind me. I hate he could not run. I would not have been able to see him anyway. LOL
