Local government officials making changes and taking cuts to help in this economy

It just so happens to be a beautiful day right here in South Carolina with temperatures around 55 and light wind. It is a nice day to open the windows and air out your home before winter takes hold and we are all living in a whirlwind of stall air indoors.

With the economy being in such turmoil throughout the US we here in SC are feeling it just the same. Cut backs in all areas of the local government have made many people nervous about what will happen when you need and officer, or call for help through 911.

Don’t panic because you will still see these types of services up and running. The cut backs are a necessary fix and are being dealt with like any other. States can not run a deficit like the federal government can so we are only allowed to use the money that we have on hand. that is what I like to call the no credit option.

It is true that several local government officials are taking time off without pay or pay-cuts to help in this time of need. It is this type of  working together that can give us a leading edge in this whole mess.

So if you may have to wait a little longer in line at courthouse offices or the DMV remember that you are simply doing your part and don’t make a big fuss about it. I would much rather see less workers in offices like that than law officers on the street.
