Is H.R. 6867 the only possible bailout the average citizen will see?

After having this effect my family recently, I wanted to find out just what the unemployment rate really is in South Carolina. It seems that the whole story is not being shown because so many have still not found a job and have used up all their unemployment benefits. Here are some data sites that show what they think the percentage is.

data.bls.gov - 7.0% to 9.9%

economagic.com - 7.3%

money.cnn.com - 7.3% (Now if you have noticed that SC has the 5th highest rate.)

With many not being counted in these percentages, I feel sure that the number is somewhat higher.  It is staggering to see so many without jobs while companies are announcing massive layoffs on the local and national news.

This loss in jobs has so much to do with the state of the economy as well as the outsourcing of jobs to other countries for cheaper labor. Those calling for bailout money need to re-think there position. They are wanting more of our money after having already taken so much. When is enough going ever be enough. Is H.R. 6867 the only possible bailout the average citizen will see?

I have always had this same stand on all of the bailout’s, so this recent event has not changed my mind at all. It has made my opinion even stronger and more on a personal level. It is a good thing that the US Congress is expected to pass the Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2008 also known as H.R.6867. This is a step in the right direction, however I fear that until we start bringing jobs back home, we will only see these unemployment rates rise.
