Common Law Marriage could be no more in South carolina
Pre-filed bill H3167 has been sent to the House for a vote in the 118th legislative session. It would mean that common law marriage would not be recognized after January 1, 2010. This is one of those bills that will make no difference to me but of course there are many out there who have an opinion one way or the other. In the United States there are only 11 states that recognize common law marriage in a court of law. Bill H3167 could change that number to 10 if passed.
What is your thoughts on common law marriage? Will it make a big difference to you one way or the other? Tell me what you think about this one.
