Voter registration changes in a pre-filed bill to be voted on

Published by Robin Green at 4:21 pm under Congress, Government, Local News Edit This

H3140 Voter registration changes in a pre-filed bill to be voted on in the 118 legislative session for South Carolina. Reps. G.R. Smith, Hamilton, Nanney, Bedingfield, Harrison, Wylie and M.A. Pitts have sponsored this bill that could change how you are allowed to vote. Party affiliation (if any) would be required on your application. As an example, this would mean that if you are listed as Republican, you can not vote in the Democratic primary and vissa verssa. This bill would also provide for a procedure to be used in order to switch parties.

Having no affiliation to a certain party, would this change my voting ability? I vote for whom I see would do a good job no matter Republican or Democrate. It does state (if any) which would mean to me that I can choose to remain having no affiliation and still vote as I have been. Upstate South Carolina will keep an eye on this bill as it goes through the voting process.
