Upstate South Carolina

I have been following a bill that has been Introduced to US House. H.J.Res. 5 is a proposed amendment to the Constitution that has been brought up before. Could this actually be the one time that this bill gets passed?

H.J.Res. 5 - “Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”

After many attempts of this, you would think that our Representatives would stop and think that this is not one of those bills that should even be discussed. NO ONE WANTS IT! Do they get the picture yet! Jose’ Serrano D from NY has sent this thing to the House yet again, so I guess he does not get it. I will be watching this bill until it gets thrown out. Until then I will be posting on it’s progress or hopefully lack there of.

South Carolina has reached it’s highest numbers in unemployment. No one imagined that we would be looking at 32% higher unemployment than in 1998. The figures do not lie, nor do the people out of work. There are just not enough jobs to go around. How do we get jobs back right here in South Carolina? This problem will not go away without something drastic being done to bring jobs back into the United States.

We need to all start writing our local representatives and tell them we have to come up with a real way to get jobs back. Unless we all get behind them, they are going to continue to sit back and do little or nothing. Find your representative here.

Did Mr. Blagojevich just make his case? Since we have not heard these actual tapes that could impeach him, it is hard for me to say. He does make a good point about not being able to bring in witnesses. Chicago law is not my area so whom ever can answer if witnesses can or cannot be brought in, may swing an opinion about his wrong doing.

From the beginning of this whole corruption case, opinions have been set to think that this guy is quilty as hell. What do you take from the interview on “The View”? He will be on “Larry King Live” tonight and again I will watch to see what, if any of his answers change.

Today I am going a little off topic to talk about something that has got my blood to boiling. Unless you have been living under a rock in Afghanistan, then you have heard of the Caylee Anthony case down in Florida. This is the one where Casey Anthony is accused of killing her daughter Caylee Anthony. It started out with a phone call to police saying the child had been missing for over a month and ended with the body being found a few weeks ago.

The mother and father of Casey (grandparents of Caylee) have been hammered in the media for supporting their daughter and the belief that she is innocent. If this were my child, I would feel the same way. So why is it that the media and others have completely made life a living hell for these grieving parents and grandparents? Mr. George Anthony has been put in the hospital after trying to take his own life and I blame the bad press as well as others. Hasn’t this family been through enough! They have just found out that their granddaughter is dead for sure and their daughter sits in jail possibly to go to death row. Will George or Cindy Anthony ever have any peace?

Anyway, I said my peace on that subject. Thank you to my regular readers for allowing me to rant on about this very touchy subject.
