Upstate South Carolina

This has been a fantastic weekend for racing! What a great show of cars came to TR Speedway for their 2 day event. The sun was shining, cars were humming, dust was flying and the smell of racing fuel was in the air. Take hold everyone because this racing season is just now getting under way. Once it gets it’s hook’s in you, it is all over but the crying. My man Timmy Smith won Stock 8 leading the entire race. Chris Goodman took home the trophy for Young Guns. And the rest of the winners did a fabulous job at keeping it clean for the most part. Already I can’t wait for next weekend. The 2009 season is off to a running start now.

This weekend is scheduled to be the first race of the season at Travelers Rest Speedway. The SAS East Super Late Model was set to be a few weeks ago and we had that big snow storm come through, so this weekend it is supposed to be a 2 day show for Saturday and Sunday starting at 2pm. If Saturday ends up being a washout, they have said they will run it all in one day on Sunday. Find out more here .

Everyone who has read my blog can probably tell you how much fun we have at the local dirt track on the weekends. This year will be even better once we startour daughter Christina out in her car. Things are just about ready so her first race will hopefully be in April. Wish us all luck.

Today was such a great day for the first practice of the season at TR Speedway in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. The weather could not have been any better for the many fans who showed up to watch there drivers. Personally I knew there would be a load of people there due to the temperatures and sunshine outside.

To all the many drivers who showed up with there cars, I think you all looked great out there. Some new cars, new bodies, new drivers and older drivers a like look to be very competative this 2009 season. The first race will be February 28th at TR Speedway, gates opening at 12 noon and racing starting at 2pm. Good luck to all the drivers in 2009.

Tomorrow February 21st starting at 2pm, is the first practice of the season at TR Speedway in Travelers Rest South Carolina. Our car is not ready yet but we will be there sitting in the stands in support of the other drivers (also to get a good view of who we can expect to see this season ).  The very first race of the year will be held February 28th (next Saturday) and again we will not be ready. We had not planned on starting until the end of March or first of April when the points races actually begin. Racing season is starting back up, so you will see extra post’s right here on each race we are able to attend.
